To try and provide guidance about whether an interested party might buy the Deluxe vs the Regular, there is no question in my mind that the Regular provides all of the photographs in such a way that the viewer is able to enjoy and appreciate them by themselves. That was the point. The addition of THE INSIDE STORY, however, provides multiple essays and a page by page, image by image commentary. This does a couple of things. It provides a context outside of the photo(s) and it really allows for a much deeper immersion into my photographic journey, ups and downs. If this is of interest to the reader, that is the way to get it.
The goal of this book was twofold: to collect for the first time in one book just my photographs. This is in all respects a Fine Art Book. It was created through a Kickstarter campaign (awarded a "Project We Love") as a legacy work for my son. The goal was the highest level of production quality that was attainable. I believe we succeeded. I have included below the video which was produced for the campaign which still provides I think a great way to understand this book.
248 pages. 11x14 inches. Introduction by Shannon Perich, Curator Photographic History Collection, Smithsonian National Museum of American History, and Preface by Neal Preston, photographer.
Ethan Russell is a multiple Grammy nominated photographer and director. He is the only photographer to have shot album covers for The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and The Who. This book is the first one dedicated solely to just his photography.
